True ‘Appiness’ comes from well managed financial records and tax savings

By Lesley Stalker on 22 November 2013

Not wishing to be left behind the ever-growing mobile culture, RJP now has an app too. It is available in iOS and Android versions and we hope you will give it a try. As well as giving you live updates from our blog, it has a lot of very useful features that will help you save time and keep more accurate records for HMRC. Please download it and let us know what you think of the different features. Just scroll to the bottom of the blog for links.

Some of the cool features on RJP’s app

1. Log that latte on expenses as soon as you get the receipt

Use the app and you should never lose a receipt again as our app allows you to track receipts and expenses at the touch of a button. All you have to do is take a picture of each receipt and save it to the app.  Any additional information can be added later and receipts stored by amount, category, and date. So now, when you order that latte or baguette and pay in cash, just capture the receipt and you are almost sorted.

Once the receipt is stored, you can just email us directly with all your expenses whether you file these monthly, quarterly or annually. We will receive the receipt for logging with the subject line automatically filled in.

2. No more trying to remember business trips made and guessing mileage

One of the most difficult items for clients to track is business mileage, because it is inevitably forgotten until much later. This is when mistakes with records are made. There are plenty of apps that let you enter the data manually, but that’s a bit low tech for us. Our app features a built-in GPS tracker to automatically help you track business mileage and accurately record each trip made. It’s a very useful feature which will enable you to quickly and accurately record your mileage and maximise your claims for business mileage without worrying about  what HMRC might find during the course of an enquiry. This is currently available for iPhone and iPad users, and is coming soon on Android.

3. Handy tax and income calculators

In addition to these features, the app includes some very handy calculators so you can check tax rates quickly from anywhere if you need to. Of particular use to shareholders is the Income Tax and Dividend Verses Salary calculator which will help you to check your tax position quickly and easily. The app also includes Corporation Tax and Inflation Calculators.

4. Pure gold features for clients with precious metal investments and shares

Finally, because so many clients have invested in precious metals as a result of economic uncertainty and poor interest rates, we have incorporated a Precious Metal tracker into the app. This tracks the very latest ‘real time’ prices of Gold, Silver, Platinum and Palladium. In addition you can also monitor favourite shares and fund prices, with a direct link to the latest figures published in the FT.

Give our app a try and let us know what you think. Click on one of the links below to begin downloading.
